The CU Reference Box is a precision reference accessory that lets you confirm your Emcee Model 1152 Digital Conductivity Meter is reading correctly – at your own facility, in under five minutes, without shipping the instrument anywhere.
It replaces the meter’s probe with a known, certified conductivity value. Press the M switch, and the meter should read that value within ±2%. If it does, your electronics are sound. If it doesn’t, you’ve found the problem in your lab instead of on the ramp.
Each CU Reference Box ships with a certificate of calibration operates either at 100pS/m or 500pS/m.
What the CU Reference Box Does – and What It Doesn't
It does: confirm that your Model 1152’s electronics and circuitry are functioning correctly against a known reference value. It gives you a fast, repeatable functional check you can run as often as your quality program requires – daily, before a critical transfer, or after an instrument is dropped or exposed to weather.
It does not: calibrate your meter, adjust it, or extend your factory calibration interval. The CU Reference Box is a verification tool, not a calibration standard. Your Model 1152 still requires periodic calibration in an ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory, and the CU Reference Box itself must be kept current in its own calibration for accurate readings.
If a fuel sample gives you an unexpected reading, the CU Reference Box helps you quickly verify the meter, so you can determine whether the issue is with the fuel or the instrument. Think of it as the check between calibrations—not a replacement for one.
Who Uses It
Aviation fuel handlers, refineries, fuel terminals, and into-plane operators running ASTM D2624, IP 274, or ISO 6297 conductivity testing – anywhere a Model 1152 result feeds a fuel release decision and instrument confidence has to be demonstrable.
Also used by industrial and process labs monitoring conductivity in paints, inks, coatings, and solvents.
