Standard Test Method Revision Approved by ASTM
Emcee Electronics Inc., a manufacturer of fuel testing equipment located in Southwest, Florida, wishes
to announce the following:
A revision to ASTM D7261 Standard Test Method for Determining Water Separation Characteristics of Diesel Fuels by Portable Separometer was approved by the ASTM membership. D7261 is a test to determine the presence of surfactant contaminants in diesel fuels. This revision was necessary to encompass diesel fuels from ultra-low Sulphur (ULSD) to biodiesel blends from B1-B20 concentrations. The test calls for the use of the “D” coalescer cell if testing ULSD and the “DB” coalescer cell if testing a
B1-B20 blend.
