Our Model 1140 Micro-Separometer is routinely used to perform the tests covered by ASTM methods D3948, D4860, D7224, and D7261. We caution our customers to please use nitrile gloves rather than latex when doing any of these tests. We have found that the use of latex gloves may cause you to have faulty results because of the buildup of static electricity inherent in the use of latex. Additionally, nitrile rubber offers more resistance to petroleum products.
